Nice. I liked this line in particular:

"In’t a shame but what’s to blame for the tumor in your head?

Give it to us straight… which team or skin cream should we support when you're dead?"

This is very much in the vein of the lyrics I wrote for SOP and RASP, and it's punchy and effective. It stops you for a sec, and I like that. I tried to blend two ideas like that in my own writing, and I honestly think I was pretty good at composing lyrics back then (probably because language was as important to me as ideas back then).

The song is way, way better if you can see the lyrics. Kinda makes me wonder if maybe a video would be good to pair w/the space opera, even just something generic with the lyrics running across the screen. Just my 3 cents!

Right now I'm thinking about different avenues of presentation. There's a guy in Philadelphia that knows way more about that stuff suggesting I turn it all into a 5-part podcast (one for each act) that is accompanied with brief discussion and the additional spoken lines between songs (like a radio play). His thinking is along the lines of what you wrote as well as the fact that two hours is a long time to keep people listening without something keeping their interest. There is a very obvious story being told, but one does have to listen to it all to follow it. I'll probably release it in various forms but I do see that one as having the highest success in encouraging people to donate to the two charities.

There you go. I don't see any good reason not to publish along multiple outlets; the more the merrier so long as they don't take up more than a little extra bandwidth.

I do like the radio broadcast idea. If you could hype that up a little bit, you might have an audience with you for every episode. Would it be a guest spot on another podcast, or just a new one you'd create?

Still figuring things out but it’d be its own thing. A limited series but probably in partnership with a couple other podcasts and would feature guests for the themes of each act or something. I’ve wanted the fundraising component to be somewhat “evergreen” so it works nicely for that instead of “buy this thing right now!”

It would be its own thing, sure, but it's not like you'd make all new music for it, right? Even still, a production like a radio/podcast is gonna be plenty of new work (just like presumably a hundredth of what you've already gone through, give or take)

Thanks for sharing the snippet. I agree that Liz makes a pretty great "sort of villain" here.

Also, I didn't know the general storyline until now, so that's great for context.

I'm happy to contribute a few more lines in addition to what I've already done, but I expect you want to get a broader range of voices and contributors here.

Thanks. I may take you up on that. I’m ansy to get it all done and while all lines have been “doled out”, there will probably be some blanks I need to fill. I’m going to figure out all the speaking stuff this week so stay tuned!
