Your words, your rules. Just because someone didn’t die from cancer doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and apples. Sometimes people need to learn to deal with a little sadness, that’s life. It’s healthy.
Just tell people it's your Emotional Support Cane. The very least you can do is fuck with them a bit.
Also, like you said, this is your space, so you absolutely get to write about whichever topic you want and in whatever tone feels right. That should go without saying, but here we are.
I like the Emotional Support Cane concept. 🤣 I’m fairly open already but if only… and since you’re here for whatever I want to write about, stay tuned for my 37-part series breaking down my thoughts on the importance of the theme to the 1980s classic American television sitcom Night Court. Judge Harry Stone, Bull, and endless Mel Torme references FTW!!!
Having permission to do whatever the fuck you want is priceless, but didn't you kind of already have a healthy dose of this prior to your diagnosis, or is it more like the volume is turned down on all the boolsheet?
I'm here for that one. I think about what punk rock and D&D and being okay with being an outcast did for me, and I know my life would not be the same without those experiences, but I've also had some other "IDGAF" moments of revelation.
I think a lot of folks would be interested in the internal dialogue. We've shared scraps of ours working on the opera. That may be the hardest post to write though.
Thank you. I think they are a reflection of my personality… fairly open but unwilling to fully open the flood gates in any real direction and I’m only sorta humorous. Just enough for blog about cancer stuff anyway. 🤣
Speak your truth! I enjoyed the last post, with you on all of this.
Thank you.

Ha!
Well, you're talking to a guy who once wrote a 5-post, scene-by-scene breakdown of "The Sound Of Music," so two can play that game.
(In case you think I'm kidding: https://nest-expressed.com/2011/11/06/sound-of-music-one/)

The internal dialogue is a lot different. That might make a good future post.

"Most people leave me the fuck alone" is my favorite.
I like to fuck with people in the grocery store. Talk about all the food I cannot eat, tell them I have cancer. You can literally clear the line!
Cool Party Trick: when someone starts talking to you and you have no interest the just mention cancer. They either glide away or talk about me.
And and they all tell you that you look terrific with uncombed hair, sunken eye sockets and bruises. Have they been lying all along?
The “for someone with cancer” part is inferred. 🤣
😂
I've always found your posts to be unique and inspiring with a touch of humor. Great work!

I’m trying to figure out how much of my expression is a choice and how much of it is healthy processing.
